Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate to join our Rhode Island team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding client experiences, managing transactions efficiently, and contributing to the overall success of our retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will play a multifaceted role that combines customer service excellence, operational efficiency, and team collaboration. Your daily responsibilities will include:


  • Client Experience Excellence: Greet and engage clients warmly, offering assistance with products and services to ensure a positive shopping experience. Address client concerns and answer inquiries promptly and professionally to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Transaction Processing: Register customer purchases accurately on designated point-of-sale systems, collect payments, and provide correct change. Process voids, returns, IOUs, refunds, and exchanges as needed while maintaining proper documentation.
  • Product Knowledge & Recommendations: Suggest items for purchase to customers and recommend complementary or upsell products to enhance their shopping experience. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of store offerings to provide informed recommendations.
  • Store Presentation: Maintain clean, well-organized counters and retail spaces. Ensure displays are properly marketed and visually appealing. Complete inventory counts and maintain accurate records as directed by management.
  • Merchandising & Displays: Build and maintain engaging product displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and corrections according to established guidelines and timelines.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with food product categorization and proper item placement according to company policies. Support inventory rotation using FIFO (first in, first out) methods to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
  • Asset Protection: Implement company loss prevention strategies to identify and minimize profit loss. Remain vigilant in detecting and preventing shrinkage or unauthorized activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with state and local regulations regarding controlled products, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco items. Maintain accurate records and follow all legal requirements.
  • Photo Center Operations: Provide exceptional customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, banner printing, and creative machine operations. Offer special photographic products and services to customers.
  • Curbside & Online Order Fulfillment: Manage web order responsibilities, including monitoring orders in the system, picking items from shelves, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
  • Store Maintenance: Assist with internal and external store maintenance to ensure a clean, tidy, and professional store environment and appearance at all times.
  • Policy Adherence & Team Collaboration: Comply with all company policies and procedures while maintaining respectful and collaborative relationships with team members.
  • Additional Duties: Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team wherever needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered
  • Language Skills: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English (with the exception of Puerto Rico locations)
  • Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members
  • Customer Focus: Genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive experiences
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic working knowledge of store computer systems and retail equipment
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items, and perform repetitive tasks

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience (minimum six months) in a retail customer service environment

  • Prior work experience in a similar retail or pharmacy setting

  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures

  • Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices

  • Ability to multilingual (especially Spanish) is a plus in our diverse communities
