This is more than just a job – it's an opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself. As a Family Support Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to support children and families through their unique journeys toward permanency and stability. Your responsibilities will extend far beyond traditional case management – you will become a trusted advocate, resource connector, and champion for the families we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Family Empowerment: Work directly with families who have achieved permanency through reintegration, adoption, custodianship, guardianship, or as aged-out youth. Empower these families by helping them recognize their strengths and build on their successes.
  • Resource Connection: Act as a bridge between families and essential community resources. Identify and connect families with housing assistance, healthcare services, educational programs, employment opportunities, childcare, financial assistance, and other vital support systems.
  • Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of families and children within the child welfare system, healthcare institutions, educational systems, and community organizations. Ensure that families' voices are heard and their needs are addressed effectively.
  • Sustained Support: Assist families in maintaining their achievements and navigating challenges that arise after permanency has been established. Provide ongoing guidance, check-ins, and intervention when needed.
  • Documentation and Data Management: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of family interactions, services provided, progress notes, and outcome tracking. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to family crises with empathy and professionalism. Provide immediate support and connect families with emergency resources when stability is threatened.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with social workers, attorneys, therapists, school personnel, and other professionals to coordinate comprehensive support for families.
  • Community Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders to expand resource networks for the families we serve.
  • Family Education: Provide guidance on parenting strategies, child development, trauma-informed care, and family management skills that promote long-term success.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and skill-building opportunities to enhance your effectiveness as a Family Support Specialist.
