Our coverage reaches millions of fans worldwide through real-time updates, event reporting, and original content across platforms including X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube.

    We frequently cover major entertainment events such as award shows, premieres, concerts, festivals, and press conferences, and are expanding our network of on-the-ground reporters who can capture cultural moments as they happen.
  • *Role Description**

PopBase is looking for freelance event reporters who can attend entertainment events on our behalf and report directly from the scene.

This role focuses on real-time event coverage, including documenting the environment, capturing photos and videos, and engaging with talent or attendees when interview opportunities arise.

Events can be fast-paced environments where opportunities happen quickly. Reporters should feel comfortable approaching people, capturing moments in real time, and reacting quickly when interview opportunities arise.

    Reporters may cover events such as:
  • Award shows
  • Film and television premieres
  • Red carpet events
  • Concerts and music festivals
  • Backstage press opportunities
  • Artist listening parties
  • Fan events and brand activations
  • Press conferences across industries (music, film/tv, politics, sports, etc.)

A typical assignment may involve attending a premiere or concert, capturing photos and vertical video from the event, documenting key moments, and conducting interviews with talent or attendees when possible.

Some assignments may involve appearing on camera, though this is not always required. In many cases reporters may conduct interviews off-camera or capture footage for PopBase’s editorial team to publish.

    This is a freelance, per-assignment role depending on location and event availability.
  • *Qualifications**
    Ideal candidates will have
  • Strong interviewing and conversational skills
  • Confidence approaching talent or attendees at events
  • Experience capturing short-form video content
  • Interest in pop culture, music, film, television, and internet culture
  • Ability to capture compelling moments in fast-paced environments
  • Familiarity with social media formats such as Reels, TikTok, and Shorts
  • Previous journalism, creator, or entertainment coverage experience is a plus
  • Reliable method for uploading footage after events
    Comfortable working with the editorial team to prepare interview questions and align on event coverage strategy.
  • *Technical Requirements**
    Applicants should be comfortable producing social-ready vertical video content using a mobile setup.Preferred equipment includes
  • A modern smartphone capable of high-quality video (iPhone 14 Pro or newer, or equivalent)
  • Ability to shoot stabilized vertical video
  • Basic understanding of lighting and audio capture
  • Reliable method for uploading footage after events
  • *Turnaround Expectations**
    Because PopBase operates in real time, reporters should be able to upload or transfer captured footage within approximately 1–2 hours whenever possible, depending on connectivity at the event.
