We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our Subscriber Operations team within the Data Analysis division. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of data, technology, and entertainment, supporting critical business initiatives that impact millions of subscribers across our streaming platforms.

Position Overview

As a Senior Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will be responsible for measuring and maintaining subscriber balances across our streaming portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate delivery of subscription change communications—including price increases, subscriber promotions, and newly collected data points—by identifying which subscribers should receive our legally mandated notifications.

This position requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including upstream messaging partners, incident management, Business Operations, and engineering teams. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our subscriber balances and ensuring that customers receive appropriate refunds when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Subscriber Communication Management: Oversee the intake and documentation of data requirements related to subscriber messaging initiatives—including cost increases, subscriber promotions, and new data collection—as well as episode remediation to ensure the right customers receive refunds when required.
• SQL Query Development: Develop complex queries based on required business logic, including legally binding criteria, to determine accurate subscriber cohorts for messaging and remediation purposes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams, providing concise summaries of technical progress or roadblocks to business stakeholders.
• Technical Expertise Development: Cultivate a strong understanding of subscriber balances and the technical infrastructure that underlies subscriber data systems.
• Project Management: Lead project planning and scheduling while overseeing cross-functional delivery to ensure readiness for critical business events and initiatives.
• Process Improvement: Drive alignment across Data, Business Operations, and Finance through the development of robust communication processes and operational playbooks that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Reporting & Analytics: Collaborate with Data Product and Data Quality Engineering teams to contribute to the design of robust reporting solutions that minimize data incidents and ensure data integrity.

Essential Qualifications

• Technical Experience: Minimum 2+ years of work experience developing in SQL, particularly within an ETL processing pipeline environment.
• Analytical Expertise: 2+ years of analytical experience with demonstrated ability to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Communication Skills: Proven experience delivering technical and/or analytical concepts to diverse audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in Python, R, or other statistical programming languages for data analysis and modeling.
• Visualization Tools: Hands-on experience with data analysis and data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar tools.
• Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills combined with excellent written and verbal presentation capabilities.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Statistical Knowledge: Understanding of statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and other advanced analytical methodologies.
• Advanced Education: Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Workflow Automation: Experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow for orchestrating data pipelines and automated processes.
• Streaming Industry Experience: Familiarity with subscription-based business models and the unique challenges associated with subscriber analytics in the streaming/entertainment industry.
