Position Overview

We are currently accepting applications for experienced Customer Service Representatives to handle inbound telephone inquiries related to individual and business tax compliance, delinquency matters, and general information requests. This remote position requires candidates to reside in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area, as occasional in-person training or team meetings may be required.

Working from the comfort of your home office, you'll serve as the first line of contact for taxpayers seeking assistance with their tax-related concerns. Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be responsible for professionally and courteously serving customers across a wide range of tax-related inquiries. Your daily duties will include:


  • High-Volume Call Management: Handle a high volume of inbound telephone calls from taxpayers seeking assistance with individual and business tax matters. Maintain composure and efficiency while managing multiple calls throughout your shift.
  • Taxpayer Account Review: Review taxpayer status and history within our multiple business systems to understand each customer's unique situation before providing personalized assistance.
  • Information Verification & Documentation: Verify, gather, and simultaneously update key information details in real-time while maintaining absolute accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Tax Policy Education: Educate taxpayers on current tax policies, procedures, and regulations in a clear, understandable manner. Help customers understand their rights and obligations regarding state tax compliance.
  • Payment Arrangement Processing: Submit requests for payment arrangements for taxpayers experiencing financial hardship. Guide customers through available options and help them find solutions that work for their specific circumstances.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve Tier 1 level issues independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment. Determine appropriate next steps to achieve complete resolution for each customer.
  • System Documentation: Document all actions taken, conversations held, and outcomes achieved into multiple business systems accurately and thoroughly.
  • Website Navigation Assistance: Assist taxpayers in navigating the Arizona Taxes website and current self-service options. Empower customers to resolve simple issues independently through self-service tools.
  • Support Request Preparation: Prepare and submit electronic support requests according to department standard procedures, ensuring all documentation meets quality standards.
  • Escalation Procedures: When necessary, escalate complex issues to Tier 2 Subject Matter Experts while providing comprehensive background information to ensure seamless continuity of service.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:


  • Residency Requirement: Must currently reside within the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. This is a mandatory requirement, and candidates not residing in the Phoenix area will not be considered.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional post-secondary education in business, finance, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a call center, financial services, or related customer-facing environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to speak clearly, concisely, and professionally over the telephone.
