Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Pharmacy Customer Service Associate to join our team at arenaflex. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation at $25 per hour, with opportunities for professional growth and development in the healthcare sector. As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient experiences while supporting our pharmacy operations in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience Excellence
- Greet and engage customers and patients warmly, offering assistance with products and services to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Resolve client issues and answer questions promptly and professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction levels
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service best practices, including friendly interpersonal habits such as welcoming demeanor, eye contact, courtesy, and attentiveness
- Embody arenaflex service values by proactively offering help, identifying needs, and following up to ensure complete satisfaction
- Recommend items to customers and suggest complementary products to enhance their shopping experience
Point of Sale Operations
- Process customer purchases on designated sales registers with speed and accuracy
- Collect payments and provide correct change as needed
- Handle voids, returns, delays, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with company policies
- Assist customers in locating products in the over-the-counter aisles when possible
- Maintain clean, well-organized counters and displays
Pharmacy Support Functions
- Support the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy as permitted by state and federal guidelines
- Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and medication information and process prescriptions accurately
- Enter patient and medication data into pharmacy systems, ensuring information is input correctly
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical medications
- Verify that medications are correct and check for potential drug interactions
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow efficiency
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program
- Review and follow the arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Ethics
- Strictly adhere to the Good Faith Dispensing policy during all prescription dispensing activities
- Handle calls that do not require personal attention from the pharmacist, including calls to physicians
- Process (edit and resubmit) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
Inventory Management
- Support the Pharmacy Division with inventory management activities, including ordering, unloading, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments
- Maintain knowledge of company asset security procedures
- File claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods, including prescription drugs
- Perform inventory checks and pricing as directed by senior management or the shift leader
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding controlled substances
Store Operations & Merchandising
- Build and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super, and sale stock displays
- Complete resets and corrections as directed
- Assist with division of food items and product positioning according to established procedures
- Support inventory rotation using the first-in, first-out method and restock outs
- Demonstrate working knowledge of store systems and equipment
- Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, banner printing, and creative machine operations
- Handle online order fulfillment duties, including monitoring orders in Picture Care Plus, picking items, and delivering orders to customers
- Assist with external and internal maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance
General Responsibilities
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Maintain respectful relationships with colleagues
- Complete special projects and other assignments as directed
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Training and Self-Improvement
- Acquire and maintain PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state-required certification/registration
- Attend training sessions and complete required learning modules as directed by management or corporate
- Obtain continuing education credits as required
- Maintain current knowledge and expertise in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and industry developments
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Language Skills: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (with the exception of Puerto Rico)
- Availability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekend hours
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in processing transactions and handling medications
- Technical Aptitude: Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment
- Previous work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
- Strong mathematical skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Proficiency in computer applications and technology
- Knowledge of store inventory control procedures
- PTCB certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems
