As an IT Infrastructure Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for both traditional and cloud-based system implementations based on designs from infrastructure architects. What You'll Do

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our technology infrastructure. Here's what you can expect to handle:


  • System Implementation: Lead both traditional and cloud-based system implementations, working closely with infrastructure architects to bring designs to life across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Server Load Balancing & Application Scaling: Provide expert understanding of concepts related to server load balancing, WAS clustering, and other application scaling strategies to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Middleware Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operations.

  • Data Center Monitoring: Proactively monitor local and remote data center operations and hardware, including UPS systems, air conditioning, power infrastructure, office security systems, and all data center processes and procedures.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Foster a climate of sharing and collaboration among the team, encouraging open communication and best practice adoption.

  • Technology Stay-Current: Remain current with systems technology best practices and evolving technologies to maintain domain expertise and recommend improvements or changes.

  • Client Communication: Support communication and response processes by addressing clients on system issues, support requests, and system status, providing guidance and escalating any prolonged or significant issues appropriately.

  • Windows Administration: Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory, including DNS and Group Policies, ensuring secure and efficient network operations.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to lower-level technicians and assist when and where necessary, helping to develop the next generation of IT professionals.

  • On-Call Support: Participate in a mandatory rotational schedule for available off-hours support, ensuring our systems remain operational around the clock.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

  • Experience: 3 years of experience as a network or infrastructure designer or administrator

  • Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a network or infrastructure specialist or manager

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

To excel in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in the following areas:


  • Strategic Planning: Advanced ability to plan strategically for current and future business conditions, including future technology and business design changes to create flexible, scalable solutions

  • IT Business Operations: In-depth knowledge of IT business operations, systems requirements, and processes

  • Server Administration: Strong expertise in Linux (RHEL/CentOS 7/8) and Windows Server (2012/2016)

  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform, Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automated infrastructure management

  • Cloud Technologies: Experience with design, development, and delivery of cloud-native applications (Microsoft Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud)

  • DevOps Practices: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub, Artifactory, or Jenkins

  • Containerization: Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Foundry for application deployment

  • Monitoring & Observability: Experience with server and application monitoring tools including Dynatrace, LogDNA, and SysDig

  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex issues and implement solutions and/or workarounds effectively

  • Multi-Tasking: Capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, urgent environment and leverage best practices

  • Initiative: Demonstrated drive, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing needs and work environments

  • Project Management: Proficiency in Agile project management methodology, specifically within infrastructure areas
