Based in our West Hempstead office, this is a hybrid position offering the perfect balance between remote work and in-office collaboration. You will work alongside a talented team of registered nurses, certified coding professionals, and billing specialists who are all dedicated to ensuring our healthcare clients receive the reimbursement they rightfully deserve. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our Revenue Recovery Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's financial health while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Medical Records Retrieval: Navigate various hospital information systems to locate and retrieve patient medical records efficiently and accurately. You will become proficient in multiple electronic health record (EHR) platforms and hospital database systems.
  • Itemized Bill Preparation: Generate and prepare comprehensive patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for both internal audits and external reviews. This requires meticulous attention to detail and understanding of healthcare billing structures.
  • Data Extraction and Entry: Extract necessary information from hospital patient accounting systems and enter data into our internal platforms with precision. You will work with Excel, database systems, and specialized healthcare software to maintain data integrity.
  • Healthcare Facility Communication: Make professional phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities (nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities) to obtain required patient information and documentation.
  • Report Generation: Run existing reports and create new reports as needed to support the recovery team's activities. You will develop advanced Excel skills and learn to use business intelligence tools.
  • Document Management: Perform scanning and indexing of documents to maintain organized digital records. Proper document management is essential for compliance and efficient operations.
  • Information Gathering: Assist with any additional information gathering or data entry tasks as required by the recovery team. This role requires flexibility and willingness to support various projects as needed.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications


  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis features

  • Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle confidential medical information with discretion and professionalism

  • Comfortable making phone calls to healthcare facilities to request information

  • Basic understanding of healthcare terminology is a plus

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or relevant certification preferred

Preferred Experience


  • Previous experience in medical records, health information management, or healthcare administration

  • Familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic health records (EHR)

  • Background in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or post-acute care environment

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements

  • Previous experience with document management systems and scanning equipment

Technical Competencies

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
