Key Responsibilities

- General Ledger Verification: Review information from the general ledger, unit reports, and other financial systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Account Reconciliation: Prepare and review account reconciliations and confirmations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement: Investigate and evaluate projects relating to financial bookkeeping procedures, techniques, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Internal Controls: Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies and procedures, ensuring robust financial governance.

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Analysis, Financial Reporting, Bookkeeping Reporting, or Risk Reporting. This experience may be demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be highly advantageous:
- 2+ years of SEC/regulatory quarterly reporting experience
- Fiserv knowledge and understanding
- COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment implementation experience
- Military knowledge or analysis experience including operational management, project management, mission construction management, and finance management
- 1+ year of credit card industry reporting experience
- Corporate/business loan products knowledge
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Big 4 or regional public accounting/financial services experience
- Intermediate to advanced Essbase/SmartView skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Strong knowledge and experience with General Ledger reconciliations and automation tools
- Independent judgment and creative problem-solving abilities to analyze, identify, and anticipate downstream effects in complex matrixed environments
- Understanding of US GAAP financial statements or financial statement preparation with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data into understandable, meaningful information and recommendations
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting/reporting/internal control issues
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
