Experienced Big Data Engineer – Live Chat Support & Remote Data Platform Development

Position Overview:

As a Big Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our enterprise data infrastructure. You will work closely with utility teams to understand, define, and capture business requirements, transforming them into robust data solutions. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and customer communication skills, as you will also be responsible for providing live chat support to address inquiries and resolve issues in real-time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with utility teams to understand, define, and capture complex business requirements for data-driven initiatives


• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Voice of the Customer (VOC) methodologies and leverage these insights to transform data within our cornerstone big data platform


• Design and build robust data model architectures that support efficient data processing and standardized metric definitions across the organization


• Implement big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python


• Deliver innovative solutions that ensure data quality and accuracy through intensive testing at variable and use case levels


• Provide recommendations to enhance capabilities and drive efficiency in computing programs using our massive data ecosystem


• Lead consumer tale analysis and elaboration, design and development of software programs, testing, and build automation tools


• Proactively identify and automate manual tasks to improve quality and operational efficiency


• Work closely with partners from various departments to prioritize, define, develop, and test data for diverse use cases as part of our VOC end-to-end process


• Provide exceptional live chat support to internal and external stakeholders, addressing technical inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally


• Collaborate with relationship managers and product owners to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables


• Participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives


• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field


• Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and Shell Scripting languages


• Proven experience with development lifecycle management and troubleshooting for data-driven projects


• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with experience delivering products in incremental iterations


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Experience with version control systems such as Git


• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes


• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus

• Experience with real-time streaming data processing frameworks such as Kafka or Flink


• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and implementation
