Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive Technician to join our exceptional fleet maintenance team. As an Automotive Technician at arenaflex, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers.
Our fleet features an impressive variety of vehicle propulsion systems, including diesel, gasoline, and alternative generation power plants such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric vehicles (in select locations). This role offers an exciting chance to work with cutting-edge automotive technology and develop expertise across multiple vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities
As an essential member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine control systems.
- Diagnostic Services: Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers to identify issues and determine optimal repair solutions.
- Physical Requirements: Meet the physical demands of the job, including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday.
- Equipment Operation: Operate standard and manual transmission vehicles, as well as power and pneumatic tools required for various repair tasks.
- Certification Compliance: Meet all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements as needed for the position. Obtain and maintain Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certification.
- Safety Compliance: Wear personal protective equipment as required and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Environmental Adaptability: Work in environments with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning chemicals, petroleum products, dust, noise, and outdoor inclement weather conditions.
- Communication: Communicate effectively through sight, hearing, and other means to perform assigned duties and maintain proper job safety situations.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively in a diverse work environment and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
Work Schedule & Shifts
Automotive Technicians at arenaflex must be willing to work flexible schedules to meet our operational needs. We offer various shift options, including:
- Second shift (evening hours)
- Third shift (night hours)
- Monday through Friday schedules
- Sunday through Thursday schedules
- Tuesday through Saturday schedules
Full-time shifts typically consist of 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days per 7-day week. Candidates must be available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Experience: Current documented automotive mechanical experience is required. Must have experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers.
- Tools: Must possess a complete supplement of personal hand tools required to perform the job effectively.
- Licenses: Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required.
- Availability: Must be reliable and able to report to work on a regular and timely basis, completing scheduled workdays consistently.
- Work Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen or national of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to perform physical activities including easy hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks. Must be able to sit occasionally as required during the workday.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will give you an advantage in the selection process:
- Previous experience working with alternative fuel vehicles (CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, electric)
- ASE certification in relevant areas
- Experience with fleet maintenance in a logistics or delivery environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
