Data Center Engineering Intern – Hardware Operations & Server Infrastructure Development (Remote-Hybrid Available)
Posted 2026-05-05Join arenaflex as a Data Center Engineering Intern
Are you ready to step into the heart of one of the world's most sophisticated technological ecosystems? At arenaflex, we don't just build data centers—we engineer the infrastructure that powers billions of searches, streams, and connections every single day. Our data centers are the beating heart of modern digital life, and we're looking for curious, driven engineering students to help us push the boundaries of what's possible.
As a Data Center Engineering Intern on our Hardware Operations team, you'll gain unparalleled hands-on experience with cutting-edge server and network infrastructure. This isn't your typical internship—you'll be embedded in teams that design, deploy, and maintain the physical systems that keep our global network running at peak performance. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to real projects, and develop skills that will launch your career in tech infrastructure, systems engineering, or data center operations.
At arenaflex, we believe that great engineering comes from diverse perspectives and a shared commitment to excellence. Our interns aren't just observers—they're contributors who make an impact from day one. If you're passionate about technology, thrive in collaborative environments, and want to understand how massive-scale computing infrastructure works, this is the opportunity for you.
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As an integral member of our Data Center Engineering team, you'll take on meaningful responsibilities that directly impact our operations. Here's what you can expect:
- Infrastructure Deployment & Maintenance: Participate in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center servers and network equipment. You'll learn how to deploy cutting-edge hardware at scale while following best practices for reliability and efficiency.
- System Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor infrastructure performance, identify trends that might indicate potential failures, and document findings. You'll work with remote teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions that keep our systems running smoothly.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of bugs, issues, and resolutions. Your work will help future engineers understand our systems and avoid repeating past challenges.
- Linux Environment Management: Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux operating systems across our server fleet. You'll develop deep expertise in one of the world's most widely-used server operating systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and support teams. You'll communicate effectively with both technical peers and non-technical partners to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Innovation Projects: Contribute to initiatives that improve deployment processes, reduce operational costs, or enhance infrastructure sustainability. We encourage creative thinking and innovative solutions from all team members.
- Cabling & Physical Infrastructure: Gain hands-on experience with data center cabling, rack installation, and physical infrastructure management. Understanding the physical layer is fundamental to data center engineering.
