Position Overview
We are seeking a visionary and accomplished Chief Operating Officer to lead our organization's global operations, strategic initiatives, and business development efforts. The COO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and board members to drive organizational success. This executive will be responsible for overseeing all domestic and international operations, financial management, technology initiatives, and cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of strategic operational oversight, financial management excellence, and the ability to lead complex organizations through transformation and growth. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Operations Leadership: Direct and oversee all domestic and international business operations and strategies, including asset management, employee benefits, business insurance, senior leadership team performance, treasury, financial management, legal affairs, risk management, payroll, and technology initiatives.
- Business Development: Establish and recommend business initiatives that improve operations, generate revenue, or control costs, positioning the organization for sustainable growth and long-term success.
- Financial Management: Oversee corporate budgets and organizational resources using approved financial guidelines, accepted practices, policies, and procedures. Develop long-range financial plans that align with the organization's strategic priorities.
- Strategy Execution: Plan and execute strategies, programs, and methods while delegating special projects to team members and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Culture Development: Collaborate on policy development that promotes organizational culture and vision, fostering an environment of excellence and innovation.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in and monitor ongoing improvement efforts to increase efficiencies, maintain quality control, and reduce operational costs.
- Data Analysis: Evaluate key results by analyzing and interpreting information and statistics; perform forecasts, projections, and predictive modeling to inform strategic decisions.
- Reporting: Create, review, audit, and modify various organizational reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Board Collaboration: Work with the Board of Directors to develop the organization's vision and strategic focus while serving as a staff contact for the Board's Executive Council and Finance and Audit Committee.
- Industry Awareness: Stay current with professional and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage and operational excellence.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for education with 10 years of Chief Operating Officer experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of Chief Operating Officer or comparable senior executive experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in revenue improvement and growth strategies.
- Experience with annual external financial audit processes and compliance requirements.
- Extensive experience in managing teams, supporting cross-functional collaboration, promoting change management, developing staff, and establishing clear objectives.
- Minimum of 5 years of public speaking experience with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
Preferred Education and Experience
- BS/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; advanced degree (MS/MBA) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in software, research, or strategy development.
- Demonstrated experience in domestic and international business operations management methodologies.
- Background in non-profit financial management and association operations.
- Experience with Association Management Software Systems.

Indirect Reports: Accounting Manager A/P, Accounting Manager A/R, Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist, Associate Director of Certification, Administrative Assistant (Meeting Planning), Administrative Assistant (Speaker Coordination), Associate Director of Government Relations, Business Systems Analyst, Certification Manager, Certification Program Specialist, Director of Government Relations, Dispensing Specialist, HR Director, IT Specialists, .NET Engineer, Senior Accountant, Senior Accounting Director, Staff Accountant, Director of Technology, Software and Applications Specialist, and Virtual Projects and Technology Manager.
The COO will participate in performance analysis processes, follow performance improvement and corrective action procedures, and participate in interview and selection processes for division leadership while making hiring decisions.
Internal and External Relationships
Internal: Regular communication with Accounting, Customer Service, Executive Office, Finance, HR, Leadership Team, Legal, Marketing, and Technology division colleagues.
Organizational: Collaboration with Directorate, Board of Consultants, and Finance and Audit Committee.
External: Relationships with Business Partners, Financial Investment Advisors, Corporate Partners, Consultants, Tax Advocates, Suppliers, and Vendors.

Compensation and Benefits
