CAD Designer / Automotive Product Development – CenCal Motorsport

CenCal Motorsport is a fast-growing automotive company focused on developing high-end aftermarket parts. We started 3 years ago and have quickly scaled, working on builds for high-profile clients including celebrities and professional athletes with our main focus being manufacturing.

While our roots are in BMW platforms, we are rapidly expanding into exotic vehicles such as Porsche, Lamborghini, and McLarens.

We design a wide range of products including:

Aero components (front lips, side skirts, diffusers, hoods, spoilers, etc.)

Performance parts (exhaust systems, intakes, etc.)

About Us:

We’re a young, driven team building something big. Everything moves fast here... new products, new platforms, constant iteration. Our founder Bryce Baker, is actively working between the U.S. and Asia to further develop and refine our manufacturing pipeline, giving us a serious edge in production capabilities while our main HQ is located in Oceanside California focusing on systems, sales & all the other things that make us move forward. We’ve already dialed in manufacturing, now we’re looking to level up our product development and CAD workflow with a long term partner.

Scope of Work:

We recently brought development in-house with a 3D scanner and 3D printer, and we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the CAD/Design side:

  • Convert 3D scan data into clean, usable CAD models (SolidWorks or similar software)
  • Design products from scratch or translate existing concepts into production-ready CAD
  • Ensure accurate fitment and real-world scalability
  • Prepare files for 3D printing (multi-piece assemblies, tolerances, proper fit)
  • Work closely with our team to bring new products to life quickly

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong experience in CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Background in automotive or basic knowledge of automotive (preferred)
  • Experience with 3D scan → CAD workflows
  • Understanding of manufacturing + fitment in real-world applications
  • Ability to move fast and adapt in a high-output environment
  • Southern California based or open to relocation (would be best but not required at this time). We would love to have someone doing this in house also being able to operate our 3D scanner/3D printer but we know this is much harder to find. We are open to remote aswell.

Work Setup:

Preferred: Southern California (or open to relocating) for potential in-house role

Also open to: Remote / freelance if workflow is strong

Why Join Us:

  • If you’re looking for a slow, corporate role — this isn’t it.
  • If you want to be part of a young team building a serious brand in the automotive space, working on real products, real cars, and pushing things forward fast, this is a great opportunity.
  • Our founder started this company at 17 years old & our co founder has been in the ecom space since he was 12 years old... Every member of this team is seriously dedicated to building.
  • We’re building something long-term and want people who are excited to grow with us, we have a great evaluation for 3 years in & you can get your foot in the door at the early stages.
