What Does This Role Involve?

As a Bilingual Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will have the incredible opportunity to engage with and delight a broad variety of customers – both Sellers who trust us with their precious items and Buyers who are passionate about adding special pieces to their collections. This role is far from routine; you'll be solving complex challenges, managing disputes and complaints, and navigating unique situations that require creativity, empathy, and strong problem-solving skills.

Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that customer queries are addressed and resolved correctly and promptly through diverse communication channels including live chat, email, phone, and social media platforms. You'll become the friendly voice and helpful face that customers encounter when they need assistance, and your ability to provide exceptional support will directly impact whether our customers return to our platform again and again.

When disputes arise between sellers and buyers – which can happen in any marketplace – you will serve as a skilled mediator, finding solutions that work fairly for both parties while maintaining arenaflex's reputation for excellent customer relations. This requires a delicate balance of diplomacy, analytical thinking, and genuine desire to help people.

The customer service department plays an essential role in arenaflex's success. Our customer service representatives are the frontline ambassadors who ensure that our customers have memorable experiences and keep coming back. This directly contributes to growing the business and strengthening our position as the premier destination for special objects.

Additionally, you'll serve as a crucial link between departments, working closely with Sales teams, our Expert curators, and other internal departments to improve the overall Customer Experience. Through your close contact with customers, you'll bring valuable feedback about possibilities for improving our services, products, and processes – making you an integral part of our continuous improvement culture.

We're looking for someone who embodies the following qualities and qualifications:


  • Professional fluency in both French and English – both spoken and written, with strong communication skills that allow you to connect with customers from diverse backgrounds

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills – enabling you to assess complex situations and find fair, effective solutions

  • Previous experience in a customer service environment – preferably in a customer-related role such as hospitality, tourism, retail, call-center, or similar positions (though we welcome candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and aptitude even without extensive experience)

  • Ability to quickly switch between various customer channels – seamlessly transitioning between phone communications, email correspondence, live chat, and social media interactions

  • Team player mentality – ability to positively interact with your team members and collaborate effectively with other departments

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week with full dedication to this role

  • Willingness to commute to our Lisbon office and work in the office at least 2 days per week for collaboration and team connection

  • Flexibility to work at least 2 weekends per month and on some public holidays, as our customers around the world need support when it's most convenient for them

  • This role is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and you'll be joining our vibrant local team

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris, and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most arenaflexians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. For this role, you will be in the office 2 out of 5 days (40% of your working time) to collaborate and connect with your colleagues while enjoying the flexibility of working from home the rest of the time.
