Technical Repair Estimator (Contract)

JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Repair Estimator position will perform estimates and repair reports for wood restoration and refinishing assignments, including a repair scope and price for each line item inspected. The position will also assist in technical estimate reviews of onsite inspection reports from field personnel for accuracy of scope and industry standard pricing and oversee issue resolutions with customers and field technicians, such as punch list.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produces and submits accurate wood restoration estimates for insurance claims affecting furniture, cabinets and millwork from photos to meet specific Service Level Requirements (SLAs)
  • Reviews estimates submitted by the network of repair firms for accuracy and confirm scope of work is complete and justified. 
  • Provides technical consultation for customers.
  • Advises repair firms on the processes and estimating requirements.
  • Assists in improving the overall process for efficient and accurate estimating practices.
  • Delivers accurate, clear estimates quickly.
  • Ensures expert analysis for repeat business and instilling customer confidence.

 

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • At least two (2) years woodwork, refinishing and restoration estimating experience.

 

 

 

PREFERRED:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certifications in related field
  • Knowledge in woodworking or construction

WORKING CONDITIONS/EQUIPMENT USE

  • Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds
  • Frequent use of office machines to include telephone, computer, and printer
