Description • As a Senior Legal Counsel - Regulatory at Remote Referral Board Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s global operations remain compliant with evolving regulatory landscapes across 95+ countries, directly enabling safe and scalable international hiring, payroll, and team management for businesses worldwide. • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams, developing and implementing compliance strategies, managing interactions with regulatory authorities, conducting risk assessments, creating internal policies and training materials, and advising on regulatory aspects of product development and business partnerships. • You will join Remote’s well-established, globally distributed Legal Team, specifically within the Infrastructure sub-team, which focuses on embedding regulatory compliance into business operations to unlock new markets and support sustainable growth in the HR-tech space. • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in global employment law, gain hands-on experience scaling compliance in a fast-growing tech scale-up, and develop leadership skills in influencing product and operational decisions through proactive legal insight—positioning you at the forefront of innovation in global work compliance. Requirements • Qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction with proven experience in regulatory law, including legal compliance, regulatory submissions, and engagement with regulatory authorities. • Extensive knowledge of global employment laws and regulatory environments, with demonstrated ability to identify regulatory risks and develop practical, proactive solutions. • Experience working cross-functionally with product, operations, finance, and compliance teams to integrate regulatory requirements into business processes and product development. • Ability to learn and master Remote’s internal tools (Slack, ContractsPodAi, Notion, Google Drive, KissFlow) and fluency in written and spoken English; additional language skills are advantageous. • Ideally possesses both law firm and in-house experience (not strict), with remote work experience considered a plus. ️ Benefits • Work from anywhere with flexible working hours and asynchronous work practices designed to support life-work balance. • Flexible paid time off, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, and access to mental health support services. • Stock options, learning budget, home office budget with IT equipment, and budget for local in-person social events or co-working spaces.
