Join arenaflex as a Data Scientist – Shape the Future of Last Mile Delivery
Are you passionate about leveraging data science and machine learning to transform how millions of customers receive their packages? Do you thrive on building intelligent systems that detect patterns, optimize operations, and drive meaningful business outcomes? arenaflex is looking for a talented and driven Senior Data Scientist to join our Last Mile Delivery team and help us revolutionize the way we serve our customers.
At arenaflex, we believe that great data science isn't just about numbers—it's about solving real-world problems that impact millions of people every day. As part of our Last Mile organization, you'll work on cutting-edge machine learning initiatives that directly affect driver safety, delivery efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact while growing your career at one of the world's most innovative companies.
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Data Scientist who is excited about building and optimizing machine learning models that power our driver abuse detection and demand forecasting systems. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing sophisticated algorithms that identify patterns in driver behavior, predict delivery demand, and ensure the safety and trust of our delivery ecosystem.
You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Engineering teams, Operations specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions that scale. This position offers the unique opportunity to work with massive datasets and apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to solve complex logistical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Learning Model Development: Build, train, and optimize machine learning models using both parametric and non-parametric statistical approaches to improve the performance of driver abuse detection and driver search algorithms within arenaflex's Last Mile organization.
- Model Maintenance & Monitoring: Run and maintain hourly and daily driver abuse models, ensuring consistent performance and reliability. Manage model refresh cycles and address any escalations or issues promptly.
- Business Stakeholder Support: Drive weekly status updates and handle ad-hoc requests or queries related to driver abuse models and escalations from business stakeholders, including account executive escalations.
- Feature Engineering: Incorporate missing purchase order data into driver abuse models and implement necessary modifications to enhance model accuracy and coverage.
- Deep Learning Applications: Apply deep learning methodologies including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), neural networks, image classification, decision trees, random forests, and clustering algorithms (K-means, T-SNE) to detect driver abuse patterns.
- Demand Forecasting: Build new store launch demand prediction pipelines using ensemble methods, time series forecasting, and regression algorithms to predict order volume in real-time and estimate driver supply needed to meet demand.
- Pipeline Automation: Automate the driver abuse pipeline for daily and hourly reporting by implementing additive models and streamlined workflows.
- Reporting & Visualization: Create powerful reporting and dashboards using data visualization tools and libraries including Python visualization packages, GGplot, Matplotlib, Plotly, and Tableau to generate meaningful graphical representations of data and model outcomes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Support client requirements and design data representations for complex datasets. Collaborate with team members to facilitate communication across different functions of the broader organization.
- End-to-End Model Development: Develop complete predictive models for product improvements and optimization of existing features, from data collection through deployment.
- Model Evaluation & Optimization: Apply best practices for model optimization, testing, and tuning using techniques including Chi-square, ROC curves, and root mean square error to evaluate accuracy, fit, validity, and robustness of multi-level models and model ensembles.
- Statistical Analysis: Perform extensive data and statistical analysis by extracting relevant information using coding tools such as Python, Pandas, and SQL from diverse data sources. Apply data mining techniques to understand underlying distributions (including left-skewed, right-skewed, normal distributions, Central Limit Theorems, standard deviations, and measures of central tendency) and patterns in data.
- Insight Generation: Analyze underlying trends and data distributions to discover user pain points and recommend improvements to product teams.
Minimum Qualifications
