About the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst - IT at arenaflex, you'll serve as a critical bridge between technology and business strategy. You'll work closely with our Digital Channels, Personalization, and Loyalty technology teams to decode complex data sets, identify patterns and trends, and transform them into meaningful information that drives operational excellence.
This role demands a communicator who thrives on finding signals within noisy data, someone who can conceive improvements to applications and metrics that matter. You'll need to be comfortable engaging with engineers, platform teams, business experts, customer experience professionals, and leadership—influencing change based on solid data analysis. Collaboration with our Digital Operations Center (DOC) on functional metrics will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the arenaflex Digital Technology family, your contributions will directly impact how we serve our customers and optimize our digital presence. Here's what you can expect:
- Analyze Digital Performance: Evaluate the performance of applications and systems that affect business functionality across all digital touchpoints
- Formulate Strategic Questions: Ask the right questions about platform data connected to Digital Channels to uncover actionable insights
- Develop Analysis Workflows: Create streamlined and comprehensive data analysis work streams that deliver consistent, reliable results
- Build Data Visualizations: Design and develop impactful dashboards and reporting products using your expertise in business intelligence tools
- Application Performance Analysis: Dive deep into application performance metrics, identifying error patterns and the top factors contributing to issues
- Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements with concrete recommendations for enhanced performance and greater scalability
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with both US and India Data Center teams to develop unified dashboards and analytical solutions
- Stay Current with Technology: Track new platform updates and application releases, continuously learning existing applications and systems to navigate performance
- Executive Communication: Deliver regular presentations and communicate updates to leadership, translating complex data into understandable insights
- System Troubleshooting: Analyze system performance, dive into errors, examine response times, review service logs, and define new data collection and tagging strategies
Required Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who bring a strong educational background combined with practical industry experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, analytics, or data engineering, with at least 3 years working in a Fortune 500 company environment
- Technical Background: 3 years of experience in e-commerce platform development
- Presentation Skills: Proven experience creating presentations for stakeholders and leadership, with the ability to engage effectively at all management levels
- Leadership Abilities: Genuine capability to create a compelling vision, inspire teams toward that vision, and provide support to achieve it
- BI Tool Expertise: Extensive experience with BI reporting tools such as PowerBI, Tibco Spotfire, or similar platforms to create meaningful, rich dashboards
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functions for data analysis and visualization
- E-commerce Analytics: Experience analyzing e-commerce platforms for Web and Mobile Applications, with knowledge of Loyalty programs
- Data Management: Demonstrated expertise in handling large data sets and relational databases (SQL and Non-SQL)
- Business Acumen: Ability to understand business needs, design data/technology metrics that connect business processes with measurable platform outcomes
- Metric Development: Strong understanding of critical metrics and Goal Setting frameworks
- Technical Skills: Advanced SQL abilities for complex data querying and analysis
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data to tackle complex business challenges
- Communication: Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without requiring sponsorship
- Reliability: Consistent, reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would strengthen your application:
- Master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Aviation Management, or Operations Research
- Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA)
- Industry certifications such as:
- Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate
- Power BI Data Analyst Associate
- AWS Certified Data Analytics
- Enterprise Data Warehouse certifications
- Palantir certification
- Client-side performance metrics tools (e.g., Quantum Metrics)
- 4 years in a leadership or lead role
- Experience with monitoring tools such as DataDog, AppD, or Kibana
- Experience with enterprise monitoring systems
- Experience with Palantir Foundry and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Prior airline or travel industry experience
- Cloud experience with AWS technologies (Redshift, QuickSight, Athena)
- Experience with BigQuery
- Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery using Agile methodologies
- Regression analysis experience for performance predictions, including various regression techniques
