Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Data Analyst to collaborate with our Internal IT Information Design and Investigation teams. In this critical role, you will execute and maintain information foundation conditions that enable report automation for the arenaflex Healthcare Quality Improvement program – Information and Understanding Commercialization initiative.
As a Senior Examination Designer at arenaflex, you will work alongside a cross-functional team of data experts, BI engineers, system administrators, and information clients to help deliver performance insights across arenaflex Health. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights initiatives and projects. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting both long-term and ad-hoc data ETL and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analysis expectations.
- Lead Data Initiatives: Direct the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights drives and projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives.
- Data Architecture Development: Plan, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects across the organization.
- Data Modeling: Create data staging and preprocessing standards for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
- ETL/ELT Implementation: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files.
- Data Profiling & Analysis: Perform comprehensive data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS files.
- Automation Development: Create internal instruments for automation of all development-related activities including data processing, QA, data validation, and more to improve team efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions.
- Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain thorough documentation of data processes, transformations, and workflows to ensure knowledge retention and facilitate team collaboration.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and demonstrate proven expertise in their respective areas:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.
- SQL Expertise: Demonstrable, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts is essential for this position.
- Cloud Data Platform Experience: Experience designing and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- BI Platform Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and implementing semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners.
- Business Acumen: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (both within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge in this role:
- Certification: Certified Analysis Professional (CAP) certification or equivalent data analytics certification.
- Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts is highly desirable.
- Advanced Technical Skills: Additional experience with big data technologies, machine learning fundamentals, or data visualization tools beyond the primary platforms listed.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare data regulations, HIPAA compliance, and data privacy considerations.
