Position Overview: Remote Healthcare Data Entry Specialist
As a Remote Healthcare Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for accurately entering and managing patient information, processing prescription data, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to data accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will work from your home office, utilizing our advanced pharmacy systems and following established protocols to support our pharmacy operations team.

You will interact with patients, pharmacists, prescribers, and insurance providers to resolve issues and ensure seamless service delivery. Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of the arenaflex Pharmacy Services team, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Patient Enrollment and Data Entry: Accurately enter new patient information into our pharmacy management systems following state and government guidelines. Process new patient enrollment applications with precision and attention to detail.
- Prescription Processing: Utilize arenaflex prescription data entry strategies and guidelines to process new prescription enrollments. Enter prescription data into the appropriate system while adhering to HIPAA regulations and company protocols.
- Refill Order Management: Handle patient medication refill requests within established timeframes. Enter refill orders into the system for processing, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
- Data Investigation and Resolution: Research and obtain missing prescription information as needed. Interpret clinical abbreviations and SIG codes to ensure accurate prescription entry and processing.
- Exception Handling: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions promptly and accurately. Identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action to maintain data integrity.
- Patient Communication: Handle inbound calls, visits, and messages from patients professionally and courteously. Respond to patient inquiries and provide accurate information regarding their prescriptions and account status.
- Outbound Communication: Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to obtain additional information, clarify prescription details, or follow up on pending requests.
- Third-Party Claims Resolution: Investigate and resolve third-party insurance rejections and oddballs. Inspect claims, gather necessary information, make adjustments, and resubmit for processing according to individual plan requirements.
- Insurance Coordination: Make phone calls to insurers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approvals, or otherwise resolve third-party rejections and billing issues.
- Pharmacist Support: Provide assistance to pharmacists, both those in our offices and those in other locations. Recognize and escalate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
- Compliance and Licensing: Obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations. Maintain an active professional license or certification throughout employment.
- Policy Adherence: Follow established working methods and perform duties in accordance with arenaflex policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to start up and shut down a computer, use mouse navigation, open and close programs, switch between applications, save documents, print reports, and access information online.
- Internet Skills: Basic web browser proficiency, including opening a browser, typing URLs correctly, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.
- Keyboard Skills: Intermediate keyboarding abilities (minimum 25 WPM) with the ability to type from memory and format documents professionally.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Work Environment: Must have a dedicated home office space with a reliable internet connection, a quiet work environment, and the ability to work full-time hours.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Pharmacy Experience: At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
- State Certification: One to two years of pharmacy technician experience with current certification/registration by the state as granted by the State Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.
- Customer Service Experience: Proven track record of providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality service standards and demonstrating high levels of patient satisfaction.
- Advanced Keyboarding: Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills (minimum 35 WPM) with the ability to type from memory and professionally format complex documents.
- Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (verbal and written) is highly desirable and will be considered a significant asset.
