Principal Procurement Specialist Remote

Location: Santa Isabel, PR (US-PR-REMOTE). Must be residing in Puerto Rico at commencement. Relocation is not offered. Citizenship: U.S. citizen required. Security Clearance: None/Not Required. What You Will Do • Provide expert support across various supply chain disciplines, primarily focused on procurement operations. • Collaborate with cross‑functional internal teams to ensure timely procurement and shipment of supplies in support of government contracts. • Source new vendors and suppliers; assist in gathering market intelligence, pricing data, and process evaluations. • Execute approved procurement initiatives under the guidance of a supervisor. • Respond to and resolve procurement‑related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. • Ensure strict adherence to applicable import/export, excise regulations, and regulatory compliance (FAR/DFAR). • Oversee full lifecycle of parts procurement — from RFQ, supplier selection, price negotiation, to order placement and delivery. • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery metrics. • Track contract performance and ensure alignment with contractual terms and regulatory obligations. • Participate in bids and proposal activities, offering procurement inputs during pricing and sourcing strategy development. • Lead or participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, supporting coordination between manufacturing and procurement teams. • Review escalated parts shortages or supply chain gaps and assist in mitigation planning. • Use SAP (preferred) or other ERP systems to process purchase orders, maintain supplier data, and track procurement status. Qualifications You Must Have • A university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field. • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written). • U.S. citizenship. Qualifications We Prefer • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supply chain/procurement role supporting government-funded projects. • Familiarity with FAR and DFAR regulations. • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships effectively. • Experience with the procurement lifecycle from quote to delivery. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP preferred). • Understanding of compliance regulations, import/export rules, and government procurement procedures. • Experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting sectors.
