Position Overview
As a Statistics Analyst I at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of sports data that reaches hundreds of millions of fans daily. You'll work within our Details and Data Gathering department, which is responsible for producing elite-level data, insights, and storytelling that ensure sports enthusiasts trust arenaflex for depth, accuracy, and perspective.
In this part-time position, you'll be entrusted with verifying and entering crucial sports statistics across virtually all arenaflex platforms — from our flagship television network to our digital properties like arenaflex.com, Fantasy, Game Cast, and the Bottom Line. Your work will directly impact the fan experience, ensuring that scores, schedules, standings, and statistics are delivered with precision and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities
As a Statistics Analyst I, your daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Data Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure that all sports information disseminated by the Details and Data team is accurate, delivered on time, and provides meaningful context for fans, analysts, and broadcasters.
- Real-Time Data Entry and Verification: Work with automated data feeds and perform manual data entry to maintain scores, schedules, standings, rankings, and statistical categories across all arenaflex platforms globally.
- Collaborative Production Support: Function effectively in both individual and team settings to deliver precise statistical breakdowns, clock-and-score updates, and comprehensive measurements in real-time that power arenaflex's extensive product portfolio and television productions.
- Content Accuracy Excellence: Verify the results of your own work and that of your colleagues, maintaining consistently high standards of accuracy even under the pressure of live broadcasting deadlines.
- Story Development Support: Assist in transforming raw statistics into compelling storylines by identifying statistical events that explain why teams win or lose, contributing to arenaflex's renowned sports narrative.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify potential issues — both daily operational challenges and longer-term systemic concerns — and propose effective solutions. Communicate rapidly and decisively with team members about these issues.
- Production Coordination: Contribute to production, operations, and special initiatives across the newsroom while supporting newsroom leaders who manage full-time and part-time staff.
- Team Engagement: Actively participate in team and departmental meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to improve overall workflow and data quality.
- Continuous Learning: Seek out and respond constructively to feedback regarding your performance. Stay informed about current office policies, procedures, and evolving industry standards.
- Platform Knowledge Development: Build and maintain an active understanding of how Details and Data fuels arenaflex's digital products and television productions, ensuring your work aligns with broader organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:
- Sports Knowledge: Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules governing various sports. You should be familiar with multiple sports and able to quickly learn new sport-specific statistics and frameworks.
- Schedule Availability: Full schedule flexibility is required, including exclusive evening shifts, weekends, and holidays. Sports never sleep, and neither does arenaflex!
- Technical Acumen: Ability to rapidly learn production processes that generate and maintain sports data driving arenaflex's digital and television products. Comfort with learning new software systems and data management tools.
- Accuracy Under Pressure: Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments. You must be able to maintain precision even when working against tight deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate confidently — both verbally and in writing — with production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often amid the noise of a busy newsroom.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
