About This Opportunity
arenaflex is seeking a talented and motivated Part-Time Customer Support Specialist (CSS) to join our CTrides project team. This exciting role is based in Connecticut and manages the statewide transportation demand management (TDM) program, as well as the customer service operations for CTrail Shore Line East and Hartford Line for the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
This is a weekend position with hours from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time. The position will be primarily remote, providing you with the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home while still being part of a collaborative team. However, please note that there will be occasions when you will need to be in the office for required training sessions and team meetings.

- Remote Work: While the majority of your work will be done remotely, periodic in-office attendance will be required for training and meetings.
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Support Specialist at arenaflex, you will be the voice of our transportation services, helping commuters and residents navigate Connecticut's transit options. Your responsibilities will include:
- Multi-Channel Customer Service: Provide accurate, polite, and responsive support through telephone, email, web-based platforms, and live chat. You will be the first point of contact for customers seeking information about commuter travel in Connecticut.
- Transportation Expertise: Develop and maintain thorough familiarity with transportation services across Connecticut, including CTrides programs and CTrail services (Shore Line East and Hartford Line).
- Information Research: Multi-task across multiple web-based and printed sources to locate relevant transportation information quickly and accurately.
- Phone Support: Handle inbound telephone inquiries professionally, including transferring calls to related services when appropriate.
- Live Chat Support: Use our Live Chat program to respond to customer inquiries online in real-time.
- Email Management: Monitor multiple email accounts and provide timely, well-written responses to customer inquiries.
- Service Alerts: Compile and issue time-sensitive service alerts via multiple communication channels to keep customers informed about delays, changes, or disruptions.
- Customized Commute Planning: Create and provide personalized commute plans based on individual travel needs, preferences, and budget considerations.
- Outbound Follow-Up: Conduct outbound follow-up calls to provide a second level of customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks to support the outreach and marketing team, including data entry, documentation, and reporting.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with transportation providers to gather and update route and schedule services information.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize Content Management Systems (CMS) and other computer programs and office equipment to accomplish assigned tasks efficiently.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of relevant experience, OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Must be available to attend a two-week weekday training program.
- Must be available to work weekends from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time.

- Time Management: Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Multitasking Abilities: Ability to juggle multiple customer inquiries and tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
- Transportation Knowledge: Familiarity with Connecticut's transportation systems, or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think on your feet and resolve customer issues efficiently.
