Excelsior University's College of Nursing & Health Sciences is building a pool of part-time nursing faculty to support its hybrid Prelicensure BSN program in Florida. Reporting to the Department Chair, these part-time faculty roles focus on educating and mentoring nursing students in classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical settings. The successful candidates will play a key role in preparing students for entry-level professional practice and NCLEX-RN success through evidence-based teaching, competency-based evaluation, and integration of quality and safety standards.<br><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong> The following duties and responsibilities, but not limited to, are expected: <ul><li>Teach prelicensure BSN courses in classroom, online, in lab, simulation, and clinical settings.</li><li>On-site test proctoring for exams and dosage calculation tests.</li><li>Work with students in skills practice, demonstration, simulation, and remediation to support student learning and skill mastery.</li><li>Prepare skills lab demonstrations and simulated learning activities in coordination with full-time nursing faculty and Department Chair.</li><li>Coordinate and supervise students to ensure that lab experiences meet learning outcomes.</li><li>Supervise, evaluate, and mentor students in clinical and lab environments to ensure safe, effective, and professional practice.</li><li>Guide students in developing clinical judgment, critical thinking, and professional competencies.</li><li>Review and analyze student performance data to inform course and program improvements.</li><li>Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.</li><li>Engage in professional development and maintain active nursing licensure.</li><li>Model professionalism, ethical practice, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.</li><li>This position requires up to 3 days per week on-site in St. Petersburg, Florida.</li></ul><strong>Qualifications:</strong> To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <ul><li>An earned Master of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited United States institution or an equivalent, nationally recognized foreign institution of higher learning.</li><li>Minimum of one year teaching experience in a prelicensure nursing program or teaching in a nurse residency program</li><li>Relevant experience in clinical nursing practice.</li><li>Proficiency with simulation technology and computers.</li><li>A license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the state of Florida.</li><li>Experience with high-fidelity simulations.</li><li>Strong track record of promoting student success using evidence-based decision-making to support the quality improvement of academic programs, curriculum, and faculty. Experience with program and student learning outcomes assessment, as well as program and institutional accreditation processes and procedures.</li><li>Strong track record or working collaboratively and collegially with faculty across disciplines to support high quality standards.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, comfort with timelines, dates, and deliverables are necessary.</li></ul>The position is compensated at a flat rate, based on modality: $1,000 per credit hour per didactic course, $3,000 per credit hour per nursing lab, $3,000 per credit hour per nursing clinical, with low enrolled courses paid at a directed study rate; the salary range stated reflects the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
