JOB SUMMARY:
The Military Student Success Advisor (SSA) plays a key role in supporting the academic success and retention of military‑affiliated students at Post University. Serving as a dedicated point of contact from enrollment through graduation, the Military SSA builds strong, trust‑based relationships that guide students through their educational journey.
Through proactive outreach, coaching, and advocacy, the Military SSA helps students navigate challenges, stay on track academically, and achieve their career goals—while delivering an exceptional experience that reflects Post University’s commitment to military student success.
Remote Work Requirements:
Proactively build and sustain positive, supportive relationships with students as they are welcomed into our learning community, fostering strong connections to the University and serving as a consistent, reliable student service resource throughout their academic journey.
Communicate directly, effectively, and consistently with assigned students to keep them informed, engaged, and connected through graduation using phone, email, and University technology systems. Respond to student inquiries promptly, typically within the same business day.
Actively manage and independently own an assigned student caseload, advocating for student needs and coordinating support across all University departments.
Leverage University systems to track, assess, and monitor student progress toward program completion and graduation; regularly report progress metrics to management.
Analyze student data from internal systems and external sources to generate insights that improve retention, enhance the student experience, and strengthen service delivery.
Collaborate proactively and creatively—both independently and as part of the Student Success Advisor team—to identify barriers to academic success and develop solutions that support persistence and retention.
Introduce, educate, and train students on University systems and tools, including Web Registration and Blackboard.
Accurately communicate and support the University's academic standards, policies, and procedures.
Provide guidance related to academic progress, course planning, degree selection, and work-life balance.
Coach and counsel students on strategies for success, overcoming challenges/objections, and navigating efficient and effective interactions with Post University.
