Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of data and insights initiatives across arenaflex Health. Your work will encompass the following key areas:
- Data Infrastructure Development: Collaborate with internal IT information engineering and investigation teams to execute and maintain data infrastructure components that enable report automation for arenaflex's Healthcare Quality Improvement program – Information and Insights commercialization.
- ETL and Data Warehousing: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analysis requirements. Design and implement efficient data pipelines that ensure data quality and accessibility.
- Database and Pipeline Design: Plan, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects. Create robust data architecture that scales with business needs.
- Data Modeling: Develop data staging and preprocessing standards for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
- Data Integration: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files. Ensure data integrity and consistency across all integration points.
- Data Profiling and Analysis: Perform data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS files.
- Automation and Tool Development: Create internal tools for automation of all development-related activities including data processing, QA, data validation, and other analytical processes to improve team efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of data engineers, BI developers, system administrators, and data consumers to deliver performance insights across arenaflex Health.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience in writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts. You should be proficient in database design, query optimization, and data manipulation.
- Experience planning and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Business Intelligence Skills: Experience providing thought leadership and implementing semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Communication Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners.
- Business Acumen: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace. You should understand how data analysis impacts business outcomes.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (both within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Certification in Data Management such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent industry certification.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts. Familiarity with healthcare industry data standards and regulations is highly valued.
- Experience working with HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures and ECDS (Electronic Clinical Data Systems) files.
- Knowledge of healthcare claims data including medical claims, pharmacy claims, and member eligibility data.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.
