Location: Monroe Correctional Complex | Monroe, WA 

Salary Range: $8,515 - $10,859 Monthly


The candidate of choice must be comfortable working in a Prison environment as you will be required to work in facility daily. 


Are you a strategic leader who thrives on operational excellence, team development, and meaningful impact? The Washington State Department of Corrections Correctional Industries (CI) team is seeking a results-driven General Manager (Industries Manager 5) to lead and elevate CI programs at the Monroe Correctional Complex, building on a strong foundation while challenging teams to innovate and expand high-quality work training opportunities.


In this role, you will provide dynamic leadership to incarcerated work programs that equip individuals with marketable job skills, reinforce strong work ethics, and contribute to reduced recidivism and increased public safety. Working collaboratively with facility leadership, agency executives, internal and external stakeholders, and partner organizations, you will ensure programs operate efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the agency’s mission to positively change lives through accountability and opportunity.


As part of the Reentry Division, Correctional Industries is committed to maintaining and expanding impactful work training programs that prepare individuals for successful reentry while reducing the tax burden of corrections. The General Manager plays a critical role in advancing this vision by overseeing daily operations, guiding program strategy, supporting high-performing teams, and contributing to business planning and financial forecasting efforts. 


The candidate of choice will work in close partnership with Monroe Correctional Complex superintendents and administration, CI leadership, and other state agencies to ensure program excellence and compliance with applicable WAC, RCW, agency policy, and state and federal laws. IMPORTANT NOTES:


Telework Details

This position may be allocated for telework. If authorized for the role, work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time.  Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite.  Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
