Position Overview
We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that power our next-generation technology platform. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical infrastructure and product development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Software Development: Write, test, and maintain high-quality product or system development code using C++ and other programming languages. You'll be expected to deliver clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets our rigorous standards.
- Architecture & Design: Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to determine appropriate technologies for various projects. You'll contribute to architectural decisions that impact the scalability and performance of our systems.
- Code Review: Review code developed by other developers and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices, including style guidelines, testing requirements, accuracy, testability, and performance optimization.
- Documentation: Contribute to existing documentation or educational content, adapting materials based on product/application updates and user feedback to ensure our knowledge base remains current and helpful.
- Problem Solving: Triage product or system issues and debug/tune/resolve problems by analyzing the sources of issues and understanding their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Infrastructure Development: Develop and maintain large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks that form the backbone of our technology platform.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features that delight our users.
- Innovation: Bring fresh ideas from all regions and disciplines, including data retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile development.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong technical skills.
- At least 3 years of experience with software development using C++, with strong proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in exploring, maintaining, or launching software products, combined with at least 1 year of experience in software design and architecture.
- At least 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks. Alternatively, experience with computing, storage, or hardware architecture will be considered.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex technical issues across multiple system components.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- A passion for learning new technologies and staying current with industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you an edge:
- A Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role, guiding teams and mentoring junior developers.
- Experience developing accessible technologies that ensure our products are usable by everyone.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and distributed systems at scale.
- Knowledge of modern software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following areas: machine learning, natural language processing, data retrieval systems, or mobile development.
