Position Overview
The Senior Business Development Manager will lead critical partnerships and acquisitions to accelerate growth for our enterprise SaaS applications within the Dynamics 365 portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will focus on our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) line of business and be responsible for identifying strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and investment opportunities; driving business model innovation; and anticipating and executing on organizational opportunities fundamental to our expansion.
You will serve as a key contributor to our strategic growth initiatives, working cross-functionally with product teams, sales organizations, and executive leadership to identify and pursue high-value opportunities that strengthen arenaflex's market position and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Strategy
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic partnership opportunities that align with our enterprise growth objectives and product roadmap
- Lead the development of partnership frameworks, including joint go-to-market strategies, co-solution opportunities, and integration pathways
- Structure and negotiate complex partnership agreements, ensuring favorable terms that protect arenaflex interests while fostering long-term collaboration
- Drive business model innovation by exploring new revenue streams, pricing models, and market expansion opportunities
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and threats
Acquisitions & Investments
- Support the identification and evaluation of acquisition targets that complement our Dynamics 365 portfolio and expand our capabilities
- Conduct thorough market analysis and financial due diligence to assess potential acquisition opportunities
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and executive teams to structure and execute acquisition transactions
- Develop investment thesis and strategic rationale for potential acquisitions and partnerships
- Post-acquisition, work to integrate new capabilities and teams effectively into the arenaflex organization
Deal Execution & Management
- Lead deal opportunities across all deal stages, from initial identification through contract execution
- Represent arenaflex in key client and partner relationships, recommending deal structures based on market expertise
- Develop comprehensive deal management plans, including communication strategies and reporting frameworks
- Navigate and resolve complex negotiations, managing executive escalations when necessary
- Proactively collaborate to close opportunities and scale the business, identifying opportunities for customized approaches
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product teams to influence product roadmap based on partnership opportunities and customer needs
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop joint go-to-market initiatives and campaigns
- Partner with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to develop post-deal service plans and ensure successful execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executive-level business and technical leaders both internally and externally
- Ensure internal alignment across departments to maximize partnership success and customer satisfaction
Pipeline Management & Reporting
- Build and maintain pipeline plans for partnership and acquisition opportunities
- Manage pipeline by identifying and prioritizing target partners, tracking progress, and driving opportunities through to completion
- Utilize data and analytics to inform internal and external decision-making
- Develop KPIs to demonstrate achieved business value and ROI from partnerships
- Prepare and present strategic updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years of relevant work experience in enterprise technology, investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, business development, or a related field
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and market analysis with strong analytical capabilities
- Proven track record of structuring and negotiating complex strategic partnerships or acquisitions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Strong business acumen and understanding of enterprise software, cloud computing, and digital transformation trends
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field AND 7+ years of relevant work experience in enterprise technology, cybersecurity, data management, investment banking, strategy consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, or business development
- OR Master's/MBA degree in Business, Strategy, or related field AND 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 6+ years of experience in the technology industry or a related field, or in a technical role (such as IT, Engineering, or Product Management)
- Deep expertise in ERP, CRM, or enterprise business applications
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions in the technology sector
- Strong network of relationships within the enterprise technology ecosystem
- Experience working with or within enterprise software companies, particularly in SaaS environments
- Proven success in developing and scaling strategic partnerships from inception to execution
