**Overview and Responsibilities**
We are looking for a customer-focused individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional support to our patients and customers. As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for new customers, providing accurate and timely information to ensure a positive experience. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Providing support to patients, referral sources, and employees through phone, email, and fax communication
* Collecting co-pays and deductible amounts, conducting insurance verification and eligibility for services/products
* Conducting patient satisfaction calls and acting as a patient advocate to resolve questions or concerns
* Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
* Maintaining accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
* Managing all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, and processing paperwork
* Obtaining authorization and qualification documentation
* Preparing complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
* Processing new orders, responding to questions, resolving issues, or forwarding to appropriate personnel in a timely manner to ensure patient, referral, and employee satisfaction
* Providing product/service information and education by answering questions and offering assistance
* Working extensively with eIntake proprietary system
* Performing other duties as assigned
**Qualifications and Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A high school diploma or GED equivalent
* One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
* Experience in the medical field and administrative record management
* Strong customer service background
* Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
* Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
* Medical terminology knowledge
* Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail
* Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
* Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Physical Demands and Work Environment**
This role requires:
* Lifting of 10lbs
* Sitting, walking, standing, talking, or listening for extensive hours
* Close vision to small print on computer and/or paperwork
* Extensive hours working on the computer
