**About arenaflex's Merchandise Planning Analytics Team**
Our Merchandise Planning Analytics team is the backbone of arenaflex's retail merchandising operations. With a team of over 100 merchants and 40 planners, we're responsible for managing reporting, analysis, and tool building to optimize performance of our Front End (non-Pharmacy) businesses. **Key Responsibilities**
As an Entry-Level Data Analyst at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
* **Own Brand Reporting**: Develop and maintain reports, recaps, and analysis for our private label products, including ad-hoc analysis based on business needs.
* **Item Level Historical Analysis**: Conduct in-depth analysis of historical sales data for individual items, identifying trends and insights to inform business decisions.
* **Item Level Future Looking Forecast**: Develop forecasts for individual items, using data and analytics to predict future sales and optimize inventory levels.
* **Complex Excel Formulas**: Develop and maintain complex Excel formulas to synthesize large data sets into meaningful executive recaps.
* **System/Tool Used**: Excel will be your primary tool for this role, so you'll need to be proficient in using it to analyze and present data.
**Top Must-Have Skills**
To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
* **Bachelor's Degree**: A degree in a quantitative field such as analytics, data science, finance, or a related field.
* **3-5 Years of Experience**: At least 3-5 years of experience in analytics, data science, finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of retail merchandising basics.
* **Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**: Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex insights in a clear and concise manner.
* **Microsoft Excel**: Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use SUM/SUMIFS, Subtotals, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Macros, and Pivot tables.
* **Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data insights to stakeholders using Microsoft PowerPoint.
* **Time Management**: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
* **Collaboration**: Ability to develop effective working relationships with Merchandising, Planning, Finance, and other stakeholders.
**Top Nice-to-Have Skills**
While not essential, the following skills and qualifications would be beneficial for this role:
* **MBA**: A Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
* **Data Science Experience**: Experience in data science, including machine learning and statistical modeling.
* **Retail Experience**: Experience working in retail, including merchandising, planning, or analytics.
* **SQL Coding**: Knowledge of SQL coding and database management.
* **Microsoft Access**: Experience with Microsoft Access and database management.
* **Macro Building**: Ability to build and maintain complex macros in Excel.
**Education/Experience Requirements**
