**Experienced Crisis Counselor – Statewide 988 Chat/Text Specialist, 2nd Shift**

Our dynamic, well-established organization endorses an organizational culture built on understanding, recognizing, and responding to those affected by trauma to strengthen resilience for our clients, staff, and community. **Job Summary:** We're seeking an experienced Crisis Counselor to join our 24/7/365 high-volume, suicide prevention-focused team as a Statewide 988 Chat/Text Specialist. This role will involve answering statewide 988 chat/texts and conducting brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills, a proven ability to communicate effectively through written communication/instant messaging, and the ability to multitask in a high-stress environment. **About the Role:** As a Crisis Counselor on our team, you'll be responsible for: * Demonstrating a high level of clinical knowledge and skill in providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments * Answering crisis contacts via Zoom contact center or the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs * Conducting follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide * Meeting the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation * Actively participating in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings * Demonstrating high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette * Demonstrating knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources * Promoting a departmental culture of cooperation and collaboration with other cross-functional departments, community agencies, hospitals, mental health consumers, and the public at large * Assisting in administrative tasks as needed **Requirements:** * Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field * Six months to one year of crisis experience preferred * Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certification may be considered in lieu of a degree * Excellent computer skills and ability to communicate effectively through written communication/instant messaging * Ability to multitask in a high-stress environment * Strong customer service skills and professional etiquette * Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention * Ability to work in a remote setting with occasional in-person meetings **Work Environment and Culture:** As a Crisis Counselor on our team, you'll be working in a fully remote setting with occasional in-person meetings.
