JOB SUMMARY

The Database Administrator II is responsible for Microsoft SQL Server database administration and business intelligence support, including data modeling, reporting, ad hoc data requests, and project team support.  The role involves intermediate to advanced work in providing effective and efficient storage, retrieval, customization, and archiving of data by managing diverse data sets to ensure an integrated database system for all users.  Key responsibilities include assisting in the development and implementation of database policies and procedures, ensuring data integrity throughout the maintenance and modification of existing applications, and contributing to organizational continuity through institutional knowledge preservation for critical database systems.  The incumbent works under the direction of senior staff with increasing independence as proficiency is developed.  This role is intended to develop expertise in UMPH’s database environment through structured knowledge transfer and mentorship from senior IT staff.  This is a fully remote position requiring self-direction, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
