Chief People Officer - Veterinary

Apply Now

EVG Specialty Network is a high-growth, multi-site specialty and emergency veterinary organization. We are building a differentiated platform focused on clinical excellence, strong hospital leadership, and scalable infrastructure to support long-term growth.

We are at an inflection point—expanding rapidly and investing in the systems, people, and leadership needed to scale.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a builder.

The Chief People Officer will design, build, and scale the entire people function for EVG. This is not a maintenance role. This is an opportunity to create the systems, processes, and leadership infrastructure that will define how the organization grows. You will partner directly with the CEO and executive team to translate strategy into execution—building a high-performing, accountable, and values-driven organization across multiple hospitals and markets.

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable:

Build the People Function

Design and implement a scalable HR infrastructure across a multi-site organization

Standardize processes across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations

Establish clear accountability, expectations, and operating rhythms across all people functions

Talent Acquisition That Matches Growth

Build a recruiting engine that consistently delivers high-quality veterinarians, specialists, and leaders

Partner with operations to align hiring with hospital growth and service line expansion

Elevate recruiting from reactive to proactive and data-driven

Leadership Development & Accountability

Build leadership capability across Hospital Administrators, Practice Managers, and Department Leaders

Implement clear performance management systems tied to outcomes

Partner with the CEO and COO to strengthen leadership bench strength across the network

HR Operations That Actually Work

Create simple, scalable systems that support hospitals—not slow them down

Bring consistency and clarity to employee relations and performance management

Ensure compliance across multiple states without overcomplicating processes

Compensation, Payroll & Benefits

Oversee payroll and benefits with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and scalability

Build and refine compensation structures that align performance with results

Ensure total rewards are competitive and support retention

Culture & Retention

Build a culture of accountability, performance, and respect

Identify and address retention risks early

Ensure hospitals feel supported—not burdened—by HR
