The N.C. Department of Information Technology serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC, providing technology services to state agencies. The Applications Systems Analyst I role focuses on the maintenance and enhancement of database systems, offering development support for various applications and ensuring data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Development, enhancement, and maintenance of custom n-tier applications systems using modern programming language such as ASP.NET, C#, Microsoft Blazor, HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, and/or DevExpress
- Use and development of relational database tables, views, stored procedures, and triggers to perform Create, Retrieve, Update, and Delete (CRUD) functions
- Meet state security requirements during application development and deployment
- Conversion and importation of legacy and/or current data from existing disparate systems
- Maintain and monitor data integrity of application databases
- Meet with subject matter experts to develop requirements for new or upgraded applications
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution
- Or Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development
- Or High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Development, enhancement, and maintenance of custom n-tier applications systems using modern programming language such as ASP.NET, C#, Microsoft Blazor, HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, and/or DevExpress
- Use and development of relational database tables, views, stored procedures, and triggers to perform Create, Retrieve, Update, and Delete (CRUD) functions
- Meet state security requirements during application development and deployment
- Conversion and importation of legacy and/or current data from existing disparate systems
- Maintain and monitor data integrity of application databases
- Meet with subject matter experts to develop requirements for new or upgraded applications
- Strong knowledge of database theory and design, SQL syntax, views, stored procedures, and user-defined functions
- Demonstrated web development skills using ASP.NET, Microsoft Blazor, and JavaScript
- Experience interacting with staff to obtain user requirements, review documentation, resolve issues relating to program documentation, and discuss options for problem resolution
